Elect Mike Power for Judge
Delaware County Court of Common Pleas
My name is Mike Power and I am running for judge of the Delaware County Court of Common Pleas. I am asking for your support and endorsement of my candidacy.
Mike Power is committed to upholding the law and following the rules of court, but remains grounded in his experience and beliefs. He carries with him the stories of clients fighting for fairness and access to justice, and the values he has championed through years of service to the Democratic Party.
As an attorney with a state-wide practice in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey, I have witnessed how different court systems and different judges work, or fail. I will bring this insight to Delaware County. I will work from within the Court to refine processes and procedures to allow quicker case resolutions, streamlined case handling, and greater access to the Court. I will work for a more positive relationship between the Court and the public.
I established my own law firm, Power & Associates, P.C., in 1995 and have practiced in Delaware County since. My practice primarily consists of representing every-day consumers, parents and workers against large corporations and sellers who market defective or unsafe vehicles or engage in consumer fraud. Many of my clients literally have no other means to assert their claims to the courts or otherwise defend their interests. Representing these every-day consumers and seeing the real-world issues my clients face on a day-to-day basis will guide me as a judge as I endeavor to make the Court more open, more accessible and more responsive to all of our residents’ concerns.
I served as the Treasurer of the Delco Dems and its affiliated PACs for fourteen years as well as served on the Delco Dems Executive Committee. I also served as Treasurer for the various Delco Victory county-wide campaign committees.
After years of advocacy on behalf of consumer rights and intense behind the scenes involvement with the Delco Dems, I believe I can best serve the public moving forward by my candidacy for judge. If I have the honor of being elected, I will uphold the law and I will follow the established rules of Court. But I will not forget my background, the stories of my clients’ fights for basic fairness and access to justice, and I will not forget the values that I have fought for in my many years of service to the Democratic Party.
